Informit EduTV now has over 30,000 programs available, starting from 2006.
New features include a language field to search for or limit search results to specific languages. Available through Advanced Search, this currently includes over 125 programs in French.
There is also an on-demand production process offering customers a Closed Capturing service for programs broadcast without closed captions.
Informit Business Development Manager, Emma Barker, commented on the milestone.
“Informit EduTV provides a massive database of diverse media content; including documentaries, drama, series and more,” she said.
“The new language searching feature helps educators and students find specific resources to complement their studies.
“We are continually working on providing new and exciting features for our customers, with 80 new programs added each week.”
The highest viewed program for 2016 is Risking Our Kids, with a study guide available for students studying health sciences or childhood development.
The ABC documentary explores whether Australia’s contemporary western lifestyle is delivering a toxic physical and social environment where the next generation of Australian children is growing up less healthy than their parents.
Informit EduTV provides content across a range of learning areas. As well as documentaries, there are programs broadcast on pay TV channels such as The History Channel, National Geographic, BBC Knowledge and Discovery.
Other features include simple and advanced searching with programs classified by subject areas, clip creation and sharing functionality, no advertisements, and full technical and customer support with analytics available.
Informit EduTV is 100% compatible across mobile, desktop, tablet and TV.
It is an essential resource for teaching and learning and allows institutions to derive maximum benefit from their Screenrights broadcast licence.
