What to buy and where to shop
The best place to shop is the Queen Victoria Market, where you will find fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and meat. They are open every day except Monday and Wednesday. If you go at the end of the day, you will often find food at a cheaper price.
Aldi Supermarket is the cheapest place to shop and they have a good range of fresh food. Find the nearest store.
If you are looking for a cheap and healthy place to have lunch or dinner, try Gopals. It is very close to RMIT Training and has a great range of vegetarian meals for around $10.
What to cook
You don’t need to have any special skills or equipment to prepare a great meal. You can make a lot of meals with just a pan, a stove and a rice cooker. There are many quick and easy recipes for students. If you make more than you need, just bring it to school the next day for lunch. There are microwaves in the student café on Level 4 if you need to reheat your food.
