Thursday 18 October, 2012

Travelling the world to support Informit subscribers is all part of the service at RMIT Publishing.

As reported in the latest Informit Bulletin, subscriber numbers have grown in a number of countries, including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, India, Germany and South Africa. RMIT Publishing staff have a had a busy few months getting to know our new clients, travelling to learn about users’ experiences and helping inspire researchers.

Mark Ly, our Business Development Manager, flew to New Zealand to meet subscribers at the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aorteaoroa (LIANZA) Conference in September. He met with the Council of New Zealand University Librarians to discuss how RMIT Publishing can support New Zealand’s universities in recovering after 2011’s devastating earthquakes.

In the United Kingdom, Heather Crosbie, Director at RMIT Publishing, attended the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) Conference. Heather also discussed the relevance of Australian research with librarians and researchers at the University of Birmingham.

Katherine Jones, RMIT Publishing’s Stakeholder Relations Executive, joined Heather in meeting with librarians at the British Library. The librarians gave positive feedback on Informit databases, impressed by their broad scope and the ability to focus research queries within topics.
