Worldwide hosts teacher training groups from China

Wednesday 22 August, 2012

RMIT English Worldwide (REW) continues to provide important professional development for teaching groups from China at the Melbourne Language Centre.

In July, 20 teachers from the Shanghai Jiading District spent three weeks developing their skills in teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP). The group included teachers of English, Chinese, mathematics and science, and REW tailored their program to include teaching methodologies applicable across different subjects. ICRO International, a long-standing agent of RMIT University, referred the group to REW.

REW is also hosting a group of teachers from the Tianjin Hedong Education Bureau. Many teachers from this region come to Melbourne regularly for training. During their eight-week program, these 22 teachers will visit a number of primary and secondary schools across Melbourne to observe teaching practices.
